to Privacy

Our goal is to keep your home pristine, and ensure you can enjoy the space you've carefully created.

Introduction

Ted's Windows ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data and being transparent about how we use it. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Ted's Windows is the data controller. You can contact us at hello@tedswindows.com.

What data we collect and why

We collect the following personal data and process it on the lawful bases shown. Contact and booking details (name, email, phone number, address) are collected to arrange and carry out window cleaning services. Payment information is processed to take payment for services; we use GoCardless to handle payments and do not store card or bank details ourselves. Website usage data (browser type, device, IP address, pages visited) is collected to understand how our website is used and to improve it. If you contact us by email or phone, we retain a record to respond to your query and maintain our service.

How long we keep your data

We retain your personal data for as long as you remain a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle any follow-up queries or disputes. Financial records are kept for seven years to comply with HMRC requirements. Website usage data is typically held for no longer than 12 months.

Third parties

We share your data only where necessary. We use GoCardless to process payments; their privacy policy is available at gocardless.com/privacy. We do not sell your data to any third party.

Third-party links

Our website may link to external sites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices and encourage you to read their policies before sharing any personal data with them.

Cookies

We use cookies to help our website function and to understand how visitors use it. When you first visit our site, you will be asked to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time through your browser settings or our cookie settings panel.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, rectify any inaccurate or incomplete data, erase your data in certain circumstances, restrict how we process your data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and port your data to another provider in a commonly used format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@tedswindows.com. We will respond within one calendar month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
